A few years ago, I trained for and ran a full marathon. The training lasted about 6 months. It was lots of running in all kinds of weather. I was told by wise friends, that weather can never be an excuse for not getting in a training run. I trained during the fall and winter, so I didn't battle the summer heat, but I did battle wind, rain, snow, and bitter cold. I made little notecards with the expression, "But it just doesn't matter!" I put them in my car, in the bathroom, in the kitchen, in my purse, at work, etc. That was my reminder that no matter what the weather was doing, I would be running! I did have to run indoors at times because I could not tolerate the weather conditions outdoors. But those little notecards kept me on track and during those 6 months, I only missed 1 training run because I didn't feel well, not because of weather.
Is anybody up for making notecards?
